Current Funds

Homer L. Walles Fund, an endowed, designated fund, was established in December 1996 for support of the Central Baptist Church of Port Neches, Texas.

 

Frances N. and Richard A. LeMaster Fund, an endowed, designated fund, was established in 1997 for the support of the First Presbyterian Church of Orange, Texas.

O.B. and Ethyl Sawyer Fund, an endowed, unrestricted fund, was given to the Foundation in December 1997 by the Trust Department of Texas Commerce Bank of Beaumont for the Foundation to distribute funds to philanthropic organizations.

 

Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Crawford Family Fund, a donor advised fund, was established in 1997.  Distributions are made to charitable organizations with advice from the donors and approval from the Foundation Board of Directors.

Steinhagen Fund, an endowed, designated fund, was given to The Beaumont Community Foundation in 1979 to provide discretionary funds for the United Way and to supplement United Way agencies. The Beaumont Community Foundation merged with the Foundation for Southeast Texas in 1998.

 

Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Tyrrell, Jr. Fund, an endowed, designated fund, was established in 1972 as a gift to the Beaumont Community Foundation to perpetuate their annual gift after their deaths.  When the BCF merged with FSET in the fall of 1998, the Tyrrells agreed to begin distributing the fund to the United Way beginning in January 1999.

Memorial Fund, an endowed, designated fund, is directed to the United Way.

Carol Tyrrell Kyle Fund, an endowed, designated fund, established in 1978 as a gift to the Beaumont Community Foundation to support the United Way after her death. The fund was merged with the Foundation for Southeast Texas in 1998.

Community Opportunity Fund, an endowed, unrestricted fund, was established in late 1998 by the Foundation for Southeast Texas’ Board of Directors for distributions to philanthropic organizations in Southeast Texas.  Competitive grants are made from this fund.

Lamb Family Fund, an endowed, donor advised fund, was established in December 1999 by Jane and Tom Lamb.  Grants are made yearly to qualified charities with advice from the donors and approval from the Foundation Board of Directors.

Laing Family Donor Advised Fund was established in December of 2003 by Linda and John Laing. Grants are made to qualified charities with advice from the donors and approval from the Foundation Board of Directors.

Audrey P. and Edward M. Curtis Endowment Fund was received in April of 2005 as a gift from the estate of Jewel Curtis Spayth.  This fund designates money to the arts every year, as well as making competitive grants yearly.

Jo Anne and George A. Dishman, Jr. Fund, an endowed, designated fund, was established in August of 2005.  Grants are made yearly to three separate qualified charities.  

AB2 Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in June of 2006 in memory of Alicia Bonura and Ashley Brown.  Donations for the fund were from the West Brook Soccer Booster Club and from many individuals from Southeast Texas. The fund has provided a scholarship for all of the girls who survived the bus accident.  It is now awarded yearly to two soccer players from West Brook High School who meet the qualifications established by the scholarship committee and the Foundation.

BEFF Family Endowed Fund, a designated fund, was established in December of 2006 by a family who wishes to remain anonymous.  Grants are made yearly to four separate social service nonprofits.

Walter J. Crawford, Jr. Family Donor Advised Fund was established by Walter Crawford Jr. in December 2006.  Grants are made to qualified charities with advice from the donors and approval from the Foundation Board of Directors.

Evelyn and Samuel Lord Endowed Fund, a designated fund, was established in January 2007 to benefit specific local charities.  Distributions will commence after the death of both Mr. and Mrs. Lord. 

Garth House Endowment Fund was established by the Board of Directors of the Garth House and the Mickey Mehaffy Children’s Advocacy Program, Inc. to assure future operating funds for the Garth House.

Gisela Houseman Donor Advised Fund was established in December 2007 by Gisela Houseman to benefit various charities as advised by Ms. Houseman and approved by the Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Friends of CASA Fund was established in December 2007 by the Board of Directors of Court Appointed Special Advocates of Southeast Texas for restricted program support of CASA.

Maurine Gray Endowment for the Beaumont Public Library System was established in October of 2009 by the estate of Maurine Gray for the purchase of large print books for the Beaumont Public Library.

Maurine Gray Endowment for Four Footed Furry Friends was established in October of 2009 by the estate of Maurine Gray for the benefit of the Humane Society of Southeast Texas.

Ross and Eva Smith Donor Advised Fund was established in July of 2010 to benefit various charities as advised by Mr. and Mrs. Smith and approved by the Foundation’s Board of Directors.

John Wasser Memorial Community Fund was established by the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Southeast Texas as a non-endowed fund to be used for competitive grants to supplement unrestricted funds when necessary and for emergency grants approved by the Board of the Foundation for Southeast Texas.

Elizabeth Gilbert Fortune Endowed Fund was established from the estate of Elizabeth Gilbert Fortune for the purpose of maintenance and repair of the Foundation for Southeast Texas Building at 700 North Street in Beaumont, Texas.

H.O.W. Center Inc., Endowment Fund was established by the Board of Directors of the Center to assure financial stability for continued operations of the center which is a safe and structured living environment for men recovering from chemical abuse and/or dependency.

Friends of H.O.W. Center Inc. was established by supporters of H.O.W. Center Inc. as a non-endowed pass through fund to accept gifts to be used exclusively for construction of a new facility for the H.O.W. Center.

Suzanne Schmidt and Donald James Maloney Family Fund was established in December of 2014 to benefit various charities as advised by Suzanne and Don Maloney and approved by the Foundation for Southeast Texas’ Board of Directors.

J.C. Giglio Family Fund, a donor advised fund, was established in March of 2015.  Distributions are made to charitable organizations with advice from the donors and approval from the Foundation Board of Directors.

Anayat House Fund was established by the Board of Directors of Anayat House, Inc. in 2015 to insure future operating funds for Anayat House.

E.T. Worthey Endowment Fund, a donor advised fund, was established in December of 2015.   Grants are made yearly to qualified charities with advice from the donors and approval from the Foundation Board of Directors.

Alan and Cherrie Hefty Charitable Fund was established in October of 2016 to benefit various charities as advised by Cherrie and Alan Hefty and approved by the Foundation for Southeast Texas’ Board of Directors.

Coburn Supply Company, Inc. Employer-Sponsored Disaster Relief Fund was established in December 2016 to provide relief to Coburn Supply Company employees and their families affected by one or more current or future qualified disasters. 

Pat and Craig Sherlock Family Fund, a donor advised fund, was established in December of 2016.  Distributions are made to charitable organizations with advice from the donors and approval from the Foundation Board of Directors.

Elaine T. Meyers Fund established in December 2016 by Elaine Meyers, is a donor advised fund.  Grants are made from this fund to qualified charities with advice from the donors and approval from the Foundation Board of Directors.

Gayle Ann Nagai Fund, a donor advised fund, was established in February of 2017. Grants are made to qualified charities with advice from the donor and approval from the Foundation Board of Directors.

Garth House Donor Advised Fund was established in March of 2017 by the Board of Directors of the Garth House for the benefit of the Garth House. 

JoBeth and Michael Jenkins Family Charitable Foundation, an endowed donor advised fund, was established in April of 2017.  Distributions are made to charitable organizations with advice from the donors and approval from the Foundation Board of Directors.

Scallon Controls Disaster Relief Fund was established in September 2017 to provide relief to Scallon Controls employees and their families affected by one or more current or future qualified disasters. 

Natgasoline Employee Relief Fund was established in September 2017 to provide relief to Natgasoline employees and their families affected by one or more current or future qualified disasters. 

Golden Pass Harvey Recovery Fund established in October 2017, is a corporate donor advised fund.  Grants are made from this fund to qualified charities to help recover from the damages of Hurricane Harvey with advice from Golden Pass, Jefferson County and the city of Port Arthur and approval from the Foundation Board of Directors. 

James and Sue Mann Fund was established in October of 2017 by the estate and trust of James and Sue Mann for the benefit of three designated southeast Texas nonprofits. 

K-Care Relief Fund was established in November 2017 to provide relief to K-BOB'S America's Kitchen employees and their families affected by one or more current or future qualified disasters. 

Paul Withington Gertz Foundation was established in December of 2017 as a donor advised to make grants to Alcohol and Drug Recovery Inpatient Programs.

Entergy Texas Hurricane Harvey Rebuilding Fund established in August of 2018, is a corporate donor advised fund. Grants are made from this fund to qualified charities to help recover from the damages of Hurricane Harvey with advice from Entergy Texas and approval from the Foundation Board of Directors.

Johnnie and Joe Broussard Donor Advised Fund was established in December of 2018.  Grants are made to qualified charities with advice from Johnnie and Joe Broussard and approval from the Foundation Board of Directors.

Golden Pass LNG Scholarship Fund was established in December of 2018.  The fund provides scholarships for individuals who meet the qualifications established by the scholarship committee and the Foundation.

 

Peace.Love.Serve. Fund was established by supporters of Peace.Love.Serve. as a non-endowed donor advised fund to accept gifts to be used for Peace.Love.Serve. and other agencies with similar missions to Peace.Love.Serve.

E.T. and Patsy Ruth Worthey Memorial Technical Scholarship was established with the Foundation for Southeast Texas in June of 2019 by the children of E.T. and Patsy Worthey.  The scholarship is a competitive award offered to graduating high school seniors in Hardin County.  A scholarship of $3,000.00 will be awarded every year for two years while the student is enrolled in a technical school.

E.T. and Patsy Ruth Worthey Memorial Scholarship was established with by the children of E.T. and Patsy Worthey with the Foundation for Southeast Texas in June of 2019.  This scholarship is a competitive award offered to graduating high school seniors in Hardin County who are attending a four-year college or university.  A scholarship of $5,000.00 will be awarded every year for four years while the student is enrolled.   

Roger and Sharon McCabe Donor Advised Fund was established in July of 2019.  Grants are made to qualified charities with advice from Roger and Sharon McCabe and approval from the Foundation Board of Directors.

Jamie and George Pope Family Fund a donor advised fund, was established in August of 2019.  Distributions are made to charitable organizations with advice from the donors and approval from the Foundation Board of Directors.

The Collective Fund an endowed, unrestricted fund, was established in December 2019 by members of the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Southeast Texas for distributions to philanthropic organizations in Southeast Texas.  Competitive grants will be made from this fund yearly. 

Deb and Bill Gier Family Foundation was established in July of 2020 as a non-endowed donor advised fund. Grants are made to qualified charities with advice from Deb and Bill Gier and approval from the Foundation Board of Directors.
 

William C. and Sallye J. Keith Endowed Fund was established in August of 2020 as a field of interest fund in the Foundation for Southeast Texas to be used for grants to nonprofit organizations in Beaumont which Sallye supported during her lifetime.
